Best Robot Vacuum and Mop Combos
Robot vacuums and mop are getting more efficient. They pass our tests on cleaning and can take care of various floors. Look for models that let you choose from a variety of modes, and use their charging docks to self-empty and clean the stairs.
Many of the best models work with smartphones. Look for an application that lets you save maps, schedules, and select cleaning modes.
1. Eufy Omni S1 Pro
Eufy's gunmetal-and gloss black Omni S1 Pro is one of the most impressive robot vacuum and mop combos available on the market. It uses lidar to navigate, create maps of rooms and floors (even multiple levels) and is compatible with the free Eufy Clean application that lets you set up schedules and modify the S1's behavior.
When I tested the S1, it was able to map the downstairs area, which has laminate flooring in the kitchen, dining room and bathrooms, as well as medium-pile carpeting and a large area rug. It was able to drive right up to walls without crashing into them, and was able to traverse thresholds for rooms that are raised without problem, although it sometimes struggled to get down stairs in a single step. The S1 performed admirably in cleaning hard floors. Its mop moved smoothly on its flat side and swung up when it reached carpets or carpets.
The docking station on the S1 automatically empties its trash bin and replenishes its water tank on board with clean, ozonated waters prior to each mopping session. The dock adds a deep-cleaning solution for the water. The S1 water tank is able to hold up to 12 cleaning sessions, but it will differ dependent on how often you use the mop.
Like all 2-in-1 robots the S1 requires periodic maintenance to keep it working well. For this, you'll need to wash the water tank that is dirty regularly to avoid it from clogging. Also, you'll need to clean your sensor and swivel wheel frequently to avoid them getting blocked by dust or dirt. But, overall, the S1 is easy to maintain, particularly compared to other models that require more care.
2. Ecovacs Deebot X2 Combo Complete
Ecovacs All-in-one robotic vacuum and mop provides an effective solution for your cleaning requirements. The Ecovacs robot vacuum comes with 8700Pa suction power, and comes with many unique features, including voice control and smart path planning that cleans around furniture and avoids obstacles. The mopping capabilities of the robot are remarkable, with mops rotating that actually lift and scrub the floor, instead of simply drag the pad across it. The mops can be cleaned and dried at the base station if required.
This robot combo has an easy-to-use interface that guides you through the process. It also comes with a hand vacuum that can be used to clean hard-to reach areas that the robot can't reach. There are also two water tanks that can be automatically emptied or filled. It comes with a variety of useful settings to fine-tune your cleaning preferences.
The Deebot X2 Combo Complete does well at vacuuming, and has a powerful suction that easily picks up most debris and even the tiny dust particles that other robots struggle with. Its navigation capabilities are pretty good, although it could get stuck on small mats and rugs around my home (which you can mitigate by defining virtual boundaries in the app). Its mopping capabilities are also excellent and include a pair of mops which can lift and scrub the floor instead of moving the pad across it. The mops are also cleaned using heated water and dried in the base station when needed. The mops are also refilled from the top of the base station when needed.
3. Dreame X40 Ultra
Dreame launched the luxurious X30 Ultra earlier this year, but their new top-of-the-line robot vacuum and mop has even more impressive features. It has outstanding cleaning performance and hands-off maintenance making it a top contender for our top mop and robot vacuum list. Its superior mapping capabilities, RGB AI smart recognition and a longer side brush will give you an efficient, customized clean.
The X40 Ultra does an excellent job of vacuuming and removing fine and large debris from hard floors as well as carpets. It also cleaned our tests' most filthy areas well, and avoiding tangled pet hairs and other messes. The sweeping performance is augmented by a side brush that extends to reach hard-to-reach corners, and an extending mop pad that is placed along baseboards.
Its navigation is smart that can navigate small spaces and negotiating stairways without skipping a step. It can go from one room to the next without needing to reverse the direction. This is beneficial for homes with a lot of rooms. Its obstacle avoidance is less advanced than the ones of other competitors, and leaves a huge margin around obstacles. This could lead to miss-hit spots.
The app is streamlined user interface that is designed to be user-friendly for both new and experienced users. The app lets you plan and manage cleanings, change mopping and suction power settings, view 2D and 3D maps, and much more. It can be controlled via the app, Alexa, Google Assistant, or Siri which allows you to monitor its progress from anywhere. You can even remotely control the X40 Ultra camera for real-time monitoring. You'll require a reliable WiFi connection to run the app and external controls.
4. Roomba Q5 pro
Robot vacuums are excellent at picking up dirt and debris, but they're not able to get every bit of dust. It is important to clean regularly, once a week. This is especially true for dust that accumulates in corners, on shelves, and in the crevices of your couch. Roborock's Q5 Pro, a 2-in-1 robot that both vacuums and mop, is designed to accomplish this. It is simple to connect it to your home WiFI network and it works with Alexa or Apple Siri.
The Q5 is a stripped-down version of the company's more expensive S-series models. It includes the top-of-the-line Roborock S8 MaxV Ultra. It is equipped with the same LIDAR mapping sensors, but it's less expensive because it doesn't come with mopping capabilities and has plastic body.
The Q5 is still one of the most powerful mopping and vacuums we've ever seen in this price range even though it's not able to wipe your floor. It has a powerful suction of 5500Pa and an auto-empty system, so you don't have to empty the bin manually each time. It also features a smart application that lets you choose your floor type and schedule cleanings, as well as an automatic water tank refill and wash system for hands-free operation.
The mops are also quite impressive, with 2700Pa of power to take on dirt, dust, and pet hair on both hard floors and carpets. The Q5 was one of the few robots we tested that did not have issues with high-pile carpets and rugs. However, it could not handle kitty litter or cable tangles. This isn't surprising as it doesn't include AI-powered obstacle-avoidance.
